“A wicked intro by Mr. Raoul K”, promises Braunbeck to make a good start to his mixtape compiled for trndmsk’s Future Stars series. “I think it’s an incredibly good track”, stresses the Stuttgart native. His mix is titled “West-Berliner Morgenstunden” and includes two tracks produced by some of Braunbeck’s friends: “The two tracks were released on their own record label called SOLIDE Musik, and they’re doing a great job!”
It doesn’t always need a certain concept
When the DJ (who now lives in Berlin) started working on the mixtape, he didn’t have a certain concept in mind. He was inspired by some of his current sets and chose a few tracks he had fallen in love with a long time ago. “I produced the set with two CDJ850Ks, a Pioneer mixer and a recording device.” Even though the tracks work together as a full story, Braunbeck is willing to highlight a single piece: “Can You Reach” by Berlin DJ Kalyma. Braunbeck is inspired by several things: “There is a certain style I prefer. When I come across tracks that I like, I add them to my library.” One of his favorite places to look for new music is Traxsource.
Most importantly: always be hardworking
Regarding his future DJ and producing career, Braunbeck knows exactly what he wants: “I don’t have specific goals; I’m a long way from reyling only on music. What I do at the moment is a lot of fun and I’ve got some good and exciting things ahead. I’m very glad about my spare time and will continue to advance my skills.” Two or three releases don’t make a career. “Those who don’t start with a massive hit single have to fight for their career, be patient and, most importantly, always work hard”, says Braunbeck who is excited to be featured on two compilations by Ourselves as well as releasing his own EP O*RS in spring 2017. “Always do what you like to do. If you’re happy about your own work you know that you’re doing the right thing.”
