Following the edition by Doctor Dru, it is now Dirty Doering’s turn to deliver a trndmsk Podcast. “You can look forward to beautiful music with a mild summery attitude from Studio Doering in Kreuzberg”, says the DJ and music producer of Katermukke. He chose most of the tracks on his flight from New York to Berlin last week: “I had enough time there.” Afterwards, he recorded the podcast on a sunny and very relaxed afternoon in his studio. “I even included some of my favorite tracks in the mix”, says Doering. One of them is “Touching Light” by Kostakis and Apple Gule from Cape Town. “A great track! Also, “Here I Am” or my remix of 5 * Deluxe’s “Beatboxrocker” are one of my current favorites. There are definitely some tracks on there that I’ll be using in future sets.” Three tracks he currently likes to play are “Here I Am”, “Rave Lungs” by David Granha or Niconé’s remix of Kid Simius’ “Flashback”.
Releasing his first album after twenty years of DJing
“I most definitely have some goals ahead”, responds the Berlin artist when asked about his future. “Sometimes you have to wait a bit for them to be fulfilled as it usually doesn’t go as fast as you wish. One of my goals for this year is to release my first album after twenty years of DJing.” This has been a goal of his for years: “It hasn’t been easy completing this one with all the other things going on. But now it’s finally finished and due to be released on Katermukke this autumn. Better late than never. Also, I’m looking forward to a range of festivals and clubs I haven’t played at before. Canada in August, for example.” This year has been quite busy so far: “My “Here I Am” EP will be released on Katermukke in June featuring remixes by Niconé, Kid Simius, Miyagi, Fat Sushi and Nobodys Face. Besides, as I said, I’ll be releasing my first album in autumn. I’m working on a few remixes as well, such as one for my buddy Sascha Cawa and his release in July. Other than that, many artists have sent great tracks that I’d like to release on Katermukke.” He is especially looking forward to the second album of his friend from Mexico, Roderic. “Great downtempo to hang out”, says Doering, “perfect for the start of the summer. And there are many great releases coming up by Sascha Cawa, Marcus Meinhardt, Midas 104, Animal Trainer and Einmusik, just to name a few.”
