JPATTERSSON releases his newest EP on Underyourskin Records. We talked with the German guy about “Lost Items”.
trndmsk: What inspired you to produce the EP?
JPATTERSSON: “Lost Items” feels more minimalistic and darker than the music I produced before. Therefore I got to know some other musical sides of JPattersson which has been a great journey and experience. During this process I was inspired by sounds and grooves but also by pictures in my head what can be seen in the way I titled my tracks this time. Besides the music of artists surrounding me is always great inspiration. The scene is growing so fast and there is lots of good stuff emerging.
Where did you record it? And how?
Under an old roof in the western part of Leipzig – sometimes freezing sometimes sweating – always with love to play around with music.
How did you get in contact with the record label?
We met on different Festivals and the idea to release something on underyourskin records came up very quickly. At the beginning of this year, we spent good times together in Mexico, playing some gigs. The release process of “Lost Items” took time and patience. Now I’m even more happy to finally present the darker side of JPattersson.
What’s up next after the release? Are you working on any other projects?
There will be a “Lost items” Remix EP coming out soon with versions of some friends of mine and there is a wild “Lost items”-Tour going on this summer: I will play on Festivals and at different inspiring places of our world from Tel Aviv and Istanbul to Rome and Lärz.
