In every track there is a sweet point that just picks you up and takes you to a magical place. Memos delivers this feeling with his synth pads in the “Smarahna” EP. He keeps taking you further and further as you get lost in euphoria. Suddenly a voice comes to give you comfort before the beautiful melodies twist you up again. Our newest member of the Pipe & Pochet family sure knows how to deliver, alongside remixes from T-Puse, El Mundo & Zazou. Each remix shifting elements to prolong the adventure of the journey.
trndmsk: What inspired you to produce the EP?
Memos: I love storytelling. I wanted to create something to reflect my inner world thus expressing moods and desires, feelings, joys and concerns stemming from my relationship with the world. There is certainly a lot coming from there on this EP!
Where did you record it? And how?
I produced both of the tracks in my home studio in Brooklyn, NY. I don’t have any specific way of recording music. I try to use new methods every time. It’s kinda risky but I feel like the results are rewarding.
How did you get in contact with the record label?
I’ve been following Pipe & Pochet since their earliest releases. After I finished Smarahna, I’ve sent them a demo. They gave me a lot of positive feedback and told me if I have another track, they could release an EP. I was working on a new track at the time so it all worked out. And then it even became a better thing once remixes by El Mundo & Zazou and T-Puse were added. Really happy to be a part of the Pipe & Pochet family.
What’s up next after the release?
I’ll be traveling for the next few weeks but can’t wait to get back to the studio to work on more tracks.
Are you working on any other projects?
Yes, always. It’s going to be a good year!
