“It was the first thing I made in my new studio” – Gabriel O’Shea’s edited “Knopfauge”
The latest edition of our free download series finds Gabriel O’Shea for his first appearance. The Mexican producer edited Saschienne’s “Knopfauge” and releases his version on trndmsk.
trndmsk: What inspired you to produce the track? How did you approach the original track?
Gabriel O’Shea: I was on the road driving my car and I selected an old Spotify playlist of mine, I was passing through a beautiful place full of trees and this amazing track started playing. Of course my next thought immediately was to make an edit that I can play in my next gigs.
Where did you record it? And how?
It was the first thing I made in my new studio, where I share space also for my paintings and photography, but also for making music (in Ableton live) or what I prefer to call; music collages.
Why do you want to provide it as a free download?
Because I want to share it with many people as possible, I love to see that I have some listeners from places that I didn’t´t even know they exist.
What’s up next after the release? Are you working on any other projects?
Right now I´m working in my next EP, inspired by some of my favorite painters, each track would have a different name inspired by a painting of them.
